Field Hockey Defender
Arielis Reyes, All Conference center back and team captain for Pennsauken High School, has accepted an offer to continue playing field hockey at Lock Haven University. LHU field hockey is a Division 1 program and member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.
While Reyes consistently displayed scholarship level talent and leadership on the field for both Pennsauken and Xplosive Hockey Club, a D1 offer remained elusive throughout her senior season in high school. As a defender, there weren’t a lot of flashy stats to translate her skills to a box score.
Never giving up on the recruiting process and with the encouragement of her coaches and parents, she continued to reach out to college coaches via her inRecruit page with personal messages, videos and photos.
Reyes remembers,”It all started off with an email. It was very late in the process. Field hockey season was over, and I actually thought I’d be attending another school next fall.”
But Reyes had caught the attention of Head Coach Pat Rudy and Assistant Coach Anna Rogers in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. The coaches viewed her athlete profile and video content, which included both game footage and an officially timed training video from Xplosive Sports to feature her athleticism.
Reyes received an email from Assistant Coach Anna Rogers who had been impressed with her play in a recent tournament. They arranged a visit to campus for February.
“A couple of weeks after my visit I received a scholarship offer. Thank you so much for your help!”
You are very welcome, Arielis! Congratulations and best of luck moving forward!
