Class of 2019 midfielder Rachel Papernik out of Pinelands Regional High School in New Jersey has verbally committed to continue her field hockey and academic career at Quinnipiac University. Quinnipiac is a member of Big East Conference for field hockey. Papernik also considered Monmouth, LIU Brooklyn, Sacred Heart and East Stroudsburg. Training with Xplosive Hockey Club year round, Papernik is skilled and athletic with two more high school and club seasons left to play to develop her game even further. As a sophomore Papernik provided a balanced offensive effort with 14 goals and 14 assists. Papernik also runs the 100 and 300 meter hurdles in track.
Rachel’s inRecruit profile attracted the attention of many college programs she contacted. “It was very exciting seeing all the colleges check out my page on inRecruit. I always looked forward to checking my profile after showcase tournaments.”
Quinnipiac stood out to her for many reasons. Style of play, academics and location all played a role in her decision. “What made Quinnipiac the right fit for me was the majors offered and the level of aggressiveness of the field hockey program. I believe I would like to study health sciences. Also the location is near family!”
Rachel’s mom Christine added “Rachel enjoyed the clinics at Quinnipiac and loved the coaching staff. Her verbal commitment to Quinnipiac was a dream come true.” “Rachel used inRecruit to communicate to college coaches which tournaments she would be participating in. She was so excited to get emails from inRecruit saying her profile was viewed.”
“Along with inRecruit we are thankful to the coaches at Xplosive Field Hockey Club. Trainer Trae, Jessica and Kevin saw Rachel’s potential and pushed her to be the best she could. We look forward to our future with our Xplosive family and as a Quinnipiac Bobcat!”
